TOP 10 BEST ROCK GROUPS OF THE 1980s

1. MOTLEY CRUE- Vince Neil, Niki Sixx, Tommy LEE and Mick Mars. They had heavy metal hits such as shout at the devil album and too fast for love album. But they are best known for softer rock hits like without you, home sweet home and same ol situation and your all i need.

2. GUNS N ROSES- Axel Rose, Slash, and the gang made one of the best rock albums ever with appetite for destruction and did it again with the beautiful ballad november rain. Although they had some rough and raw real music like mr. brownstone and welcome to the jungle he also showed a softer side with patience, sweet child of mine and of course november rain.

3. AC/ DC- You shook me all night long and back in black are fun to bounce to but ride on and highway to hell has hellacious guitar solos. This group has universal appeal world wide, especially in England.

4. DEF LEOPARD- This group had the touch. Almost every song had that certain rythym to it that had you going. Pour some sugar on me was awesome, and the solos were something to behold in this generation.

5. METALLICA- This group had hard heavy metal such as kill em all, and ride the lightning, but a more commercial studio appeal in metallica self titled black album. They were actually a metal band getting radio play, it was nice to see. And justice for all was my personal favorite by them.

6. BON JOVIE- Jon Bon Jovie was loved by the ladies and the guys. With hits like wanted dead or alive and its my life he was awesome. The album entitled slippery when wet was a legendary rock album plain and simple.

7. VAN HALEN- Eddie Van Halen has reinvented his bands voice with several different singers i personally liked Sammy Hagger the best of them. At any rate the solos and the subject this band sung about makes them hands down a hall of fame level band.

8. OZZY OSBOURNE- Already he was loved for being in the group BLACK SABBATH but in the 80s it was just Ozzy and he was devastating. His music could send chills up your spine. The album BARK AT THE MOON AND NO REST FOR THE WICKED are some of the best albums i have ever bore witness to.

9. AEROSMITH- This band is like the energizer bunny, they just keep going and going and going. They have had so many hits i wouldnt know where to begin. Ragdoll, walk this way etc.

10. PINK FLOYD- My favorite band of all time. If this list was of the 70s they wouldve been near the top or even higher than 10 in the 90s at any rate they were still good. DAVID GILMORE sings as ROGER WATERS jeft the band, but from 1980 till 83 the group was intact.

11. ROLLING STONES- A band for all decades they keep it going.

12. ZZ TOP- They have that unique beat that makes you wanna move.

13. JOAN JETT- She could hang with the guys and she could sing. Her band was the black hearts.

14. POISON- Brett Michaels till this day makes women go bezerk but he had some big hits in the 80s.

15.. KISS- Another of my personal favorites especially in the 70s but their 80s music was spectacular as well.

16. SKID ROW- A great band, if they have made more music they wouldve rated higher.

17. WHITE SNAKE- A great hair band they rocked it hard.

18. CINDERELLA- They had 2 great albums.

19. DOKKEN- Great instrumentals just like pink floyd.

20. IRON MAIDEN- Ahard core heavy metal group who loved it loud.
